The Weekly Rap, or is that Rant!

Well another week in the year has rolled by I officially entered the last year of my twenties. It all happened so fast I am not entirely sure what's going on. The bad news is that I didn't reach my goal weight of 225 by my birthday but I did get close tipping the scale at 227.

Hey 227....That was a TV show with Jackee Harris. What are the chances!?!

Ok - so that really was not much of a coincidence but how often do you get to mention Jackee in day-to-day conversation.

The good news is that I did the Buntzen Lake loop in under 2 Hours yesterday knocking that goal off the charts. I ran most of it but some hills along the trail that absolutely kicked my ass as I hit the wall early in the run. It was almost 12km and I finished in 1 hour and 20 minutes. Considering how badly I was dragging my ass yesterday I am pretty happy with the result.

I also got the Nike+ shoe sensor for my birthday which measures your speed and distance and then you can upload it to the Nike website and they will process a bunch of data for you. Even during the workout the sensor sends information to your iPod and it will talk to you and let you know how you are doing and how much longer you have to run depending on what type of workout you are doing.

It is so freaking cool and it sadly or oddly has made me want to run more. I am not totally sure how it works but it is freaking cool and from my calculations in actually quite accurate. I look forward to using it during the SunRun and the Half Marathon.

As a side note I have jumped out to a big lead on ATB in the Kilometre Khallenge. Only time will tell if he has that testicular fortitude to catch up.

The Media has Really Grabbed This Story

The Race is On...

So ATB and I decided on a little challenge. I would like to call the Kilometer Khallenge, or the One Month Double K.

The premise is simple.

Starting today, who can log the most KM's. ATB has choosen the slow and steady approach claiming that he will log 5Km a day for a month. That puts him on pace for around 150Km.

That means I will have to do 35Km a week. I am feeling like I can put up a good fight.

I, on the other hand, busted out of the gates the through down the hammer today and did a 10 Km run on the treadmill. I have a feeling this may be the classic case of Tortoise and The Hare, only this time I am hoping the Tortoise loses his resolve.

So get your bets in. Vegas odds put ATB as a slight favorite but underground sources say to bet the farm on Duncan. It will make for an interesting month heading into the 1/2 Marathon.

On the line is...well, I am not totally sure what is on the line. I believe that the prize package is still currently being deliberated.

Well, to get started I will put out this press release from the Hall of Records. I set a couple on Personal Bests over the past week.

On Friday did my Best 5 KM - 26:49 - My first sub 27:00 5km

Today I knocked out my best ever 10Km completing it in 55:00 even.

I feel totally ready for the Sun Run and I believe that was my 5th or 6th 10Km run I have done in the last 3 months. I still need to ramp up to the half marathon. I have about 6 weeks to go and I want to do one 20Km run before the end of this month. So that will probably have to get done in the next couple of weeks. We will see what I can do!!

I found this picture online and it seems to predict the final result of the challenge.

Battle Damage!!

My Flintstone feet have been takin' a beating with all the KMs I have been throwin' down. This little black beauty started after I ran the big 15 km a few weeks ago. Otherwise I think I have some pretty cute feet.

Also notice the nice flooring in our office in the background. Now that is HIGH class!
